In addition to our medical providers, our office is home to a dedicated team of administrative and medical support professionals.

Lindy Mapes

Manager

Lindy began working with us as a back office assistant at our sister clinic Alaska Premier Health when it opened in 1993. Now, she serves as the manager of Island Health and Wellness and also works as a medical assistant. Lindy received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism and Mass Communication from Arizona State University. She is also trained in many diagnostic procedures.

Laurie Mapes

Director of Development

Laurie is a Certified Lifestyle Counselor. She attended Alaska Pacific University for her Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration and has received in-depth training at the Cooper Institute in Dallas as well as many other weight loss centers. Laurie is originally from Seattle and first joined our team as an employee of Alaska Premier Health in 1993.

Roanne Ramos

Medical Assistant

Roanne began working with Island Health Weight and Wellness as a medical assistant in August 2012. She received her Associate’s degree in Applied Science in Medical Assisting from Heald College of Honolulu in 2010. Before joining our team, Roanne worked in an OB/GYN office. She intends to one day become a sonographer by continuing her education in radiology.
